The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed as false the rumors of a planned attack on the University of Abuja Campus.

In a statement on Saturday, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, clarified that the rumors of an alleged planned abduction by unidentified individuals on the university campus were baseless and meant to create unnecessary panic among the residents and the university community.

“The FCT Police Command wishes to clarify that these reports are nothing but baseless publications propagated by rumor mongers aiming to create unfounded panic and apprehension among FCT residents and the University community,” Adeh stated.

She assured the public of the command’s commitment to ensuring the security of lives and property in the FCT, including at the University of Abuja, with adequate personnel and equipment deployed to enhance safety.

The command also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the FCT Police emergency numbers: 08032003913, 08028940883, 08061581938, and 07057337653. For complaints, residents may contact PCB at 09022222352 or CRU at 08107314192.
