The recent apology from popular content creator Verydarkman has ignited a heated debate across social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter). The controversy, which initially stemmed from allegations against respected lawyer Femi Falana, has since spiraled into a larger discussion on defamation, the responsibility of social media influencers, and whether the matter should be pursued further.

In the aftermath of the apology, users on X have shared diverse opinions, with many expressing relief that Verydarkman acknowledged his mistake, while others remain skeptical, demanding more action beyond the apology.

@NaijaDebater was among the first to comment, stating:

“Verydarkman had no choice but to apologize. You can’t throw around accusations like that without consequences. He made the right move!”

For some users, like @FalanaFanClub, the apology provided a sense of closure after the unwarranted allegations:

“Femi Falana has built a legacy as one of the most respected lawyers in Nigeria. It’s sad to see him dragged into this drama based on unverified claims. Glad Verydarkman realized his mistake.”

However, not everyone was satisfied. @TruthSeekerX remained unconvinced by the public apology, arguing that the underlying issues had not been addressed:

“Bobrisky’s audio raised valid questions. I hope this apology doesn’t distract from the need for a full investigation into the allegations. We can’t just sweep things under the rug.”

Some users saw the entire saga as entertainment, with @LaughWithMe poking fun at the situation:

“First Bobrisky, then EFCC, now Falana and Falz? This whole situation feels like a Nollywood movie waiting to happen! Someone get Netflix on this!”

From a legal standpoint, @LegalEagleNG emphasized the seriousness of defamation and praised the apology as a necessary step:

“Defamation is a serious matter, especially when it involves public figures like Falana. Glad to see Verydarkman step back before things escalated in court. This should be a lesson for others.”

Despite this, not all users were satisfied with the timing or sincerity of the apology. @JustJustice commented:

“So, after making wild claims and causing a stir, now there’s an apology? Damage already done. People need to be more responsible with their platforms.”

The incident has also sparked wider conversations about the role of social media influencers in shaping public opinion, with many users, including @InfoMan, calling for more accountability:

“Social media influencers need to be held accountable. You can’t just spread baseless allegations and think an apology is enough.”

Meanwhile, @BobriskyFanX offered a defense of Verydarkman’s initial reaction, noting that he was responding to Bobrisky’s claims:

“He was just reacting to what Bobrisky said. Everyone’s acting like they wouldn’t have done the same. Bobrisky started it—now we need the full story!”

As the debate rages on, the apology has done little to quell speculation and ongoing discussions surrounding the initial allegations. Some users are demanding further legal scrutiny, while others are calling for restraint and responsibility on social media platforms. What remains uncertain is whether the apology will put an end to the controversy or if new revelations will come to light, prolonging the drama.
