The election on October 5, 2024, is scheduled to be contested by no fewer than eight parties.

Alia, who spoke at the All Progressive Congress election campaign launch in Gboko on Wednesday, promised a free and fair election.

The governor, represented by his deputy Sam Ode, urged party members to work hard to ensure that APC candidates win all seats in the next elections.

“His Excellency, Hyacinth Alia is determined to ensure that the coming election is free and fair, hence, he has promised to provide a level playing ground for all the political parties,” he said.

Ode, therefore, handed over the party flags to the 23 APC chairmanship candidates and their deputies, charging them to work for their people.

In his welcome message, the APC caretaker committee chairman, Benjamin Omale, stated that the committee had played an important role in addressing the issues of dissatisfied aspirants, ensuring that every voice was heard and respected.

Omale stated that the committee’s efforts have helped to create unity and understanding within the party.

He stated that the state APC administration was committed to fulfilling their campaign pledges.

He urged party members to turn out in large numbers on October 5 to vote for all APC candidates in order to improve service delivery and the well-being of the people.

He also thanked President Bola Tinubu, the National Chairman of the APC, and the working committee for their assistance in bringing peace to Benue APC and establishing the unity caretaker committee.
