Maverick singer Seun Kuti has revealed his involvement in the ongoing controversy between cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, and popular influencer Martins Vincent Otse, aka VeryDarkMan.
On Tuesday night, VeryDarkMan released a voice recording allegedly featuring Bobrisky, in which he claimed to have bribed officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15 million to have a money laundering charge dropped against him. In the recording, Bobrisky also stated that he never spent a day in prison after being convicted and sentenced to six months, claiming his godfather arranged for him to serve his term in a lodge instead.
However, on Wednesday morning, Bobrisky dismissed the claims as fake, asserting that he served his time in prison.
In response, Seun Kuti disclosed during an Instagram live session that he was the one who encouraged VeryDarkMan to expose Bobrisky after being informed about the existence of the recording. He stated, “You people are late to the party; I was the first person VeryDarkMan informed about the story. I gave him the go-ahead to expose Bobrisky.”
Meanwhile, the EFCC has summoned both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan regarding the N15 million bribery allegations against its personnel. The duo has been invited to the EFCC’s Lagos State office to provide information and assist with the ongoing investigation.
