As a renowned professor of Mathematics Education, Prof. Salman brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She was previously a lecturer at the University of Ilorin’s Department of Science Education and coordinator of the Educational Technology Centre. Her research interests include Mathematics Education, gender issues in mathematics and science education, and innovation in mathematics education in the developing world.

Prof. Salman’s impressive educational background includes a Bachelor of Education from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria in 1985, a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Ilorin in 1990, and a doctoral degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Ilorin in 1998.

As the pioneer vice chancellor, Prof. Salman will serve in an acting capacity until a substantive vice chancellor is appointed. This is definitely a milestone for education in Kwara State, and expectations are high from Prof. Salman’s positive impact and performance
