In a move aimed at boosting the morale and welfare of federal civil servants, the Federal Government has approved a new wage award, effective immediately.
The approval was announced yesterday by the Head of Service of the Federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, after a meeting with labor leaders and representatives of the Federal Government.
Labour leaders hailed the decision, describing it as a “significant step” towards improving the living standards of federal workers.
The wage award takes effect immediately, with payment of arrears expected to commence in the next payroll cycle.
The Federal Government has assured that necessary arrangements are in place to ensure seamless implementation.
