Former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President Olumide Akpata lost unexpectedly in a closely contested election in Polling Unit 11, Ward 06, Oredo Local Government Area in the ongoing gubernatorial election in Edo state. The closely observed results revealed that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won by a large margin, defeating Akpata’s Labour Party.
The election results for the polling unit were as follows:
- PDP: 41 votes
- Labour Party (LP): 32 votes
- All Progressives Congress (APC): 19 votes
