Nigerian singer and producer Philip Kayode, popularly known as Pheelz, has clarified that contrary to popular belief, music is not a get-rich-quick scheme.
He emphasized that music serves a more profound, spiritual purpose, referring to it as a form of divine expression.
According to Pheelz, music is “God” and has the power to heal. In a post on his X handle, he wrote:
“Music is not a grind. It is not a get-rich-quick scheme.
It is not a hustle.
Music is life.
Music is feeling.
Music is healing.
Music is God.”
Reports indicate that many up-and-coming Afrobeats artists, as well as established stars, have cited poverty as a major inspiration for pursuing their careers.
In a separate post, the ‘Finesse’ hitmaker further explained that the music business is a human attempt to commercialize divine energy. He wrote:
“The music and the music business are two different frequencies to me. The music business is man’s attempt to commodify God’s energy. The music itself is God.”
