A deadly attack in Mbar community, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, has left five young men dead.
The victims were ambushed by suspected terrorists on motorcycles while traveling from Mbar town to Koh village.
The Bokkos Cultural Development Council (BCDC) Vanguard strongly condemned the attack, calling it the latest in a series of armed attacks in the area.
In a statement, BCDC Vanguard Chairman Farmasum Fuddang and nine others urged local communities to work with security forces to find lasting solutions.
The group suggested leveraging local knowledge and intelligence to identify and expose criminal elements.
BCDC Vanguard sympathized with the victims’ families and advised communities to be vigilant, defend themselves, and avoid late movements.
3 Division Nigerian Army Spokesperson Major Aliyu Danja promised to investigate the incident.
The attack has heightened concerns about Plateau State’s security situation, emphasizing the need for urgent government action to protect citizens’ lives and properties.
