Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has addressed recent rumors suggesting she was pregnant by American rapper Future.
The speculation began after Tems was seen at Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 London Fashion Week show last December, wearing a black dress with a purple fluffy coat and matching heels. Many speculated that the way the dress fit her suggested a possible pregnancy.
In a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, Tems questioned why Future was rumored to be the father of her alleged pregnancy. She wondered why the rumors didn’t suggest other celebrities like Wizkid or Drake.
“People just focus on the most controversial things. I was thinking, why would I be pregnant by Future? Why Future?” she said. “Why not Wizkid? Why not Drake? If it were Drake, it would be the same, but the reason it’s Future is because of his reputation. He has about five kids and is known as a ladies’ man.”
Tems also discussed her musical influences, naming Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ab-Soul, Andre 3000, and J. Cole as her top rap inspirations.
She was featured on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy album in 2021, and J. Cole was one of only two guest artists on Tems’ debut album, Born in the Wild, released earlier this year.
