The U.S.-Africa Business Week, scheduled to take place from September 16 to 22 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, is expected to enhance Nigeria’s non-oil export sector. Executive Director of the U.S.-Africa Trade and Business Network, Gbenga Omotayo, emphasized that the event would focus on overcoming challenges faced by Nigerian exporters.

Themed “Bridging Continents, Empowering Trade,” the forum marks its seventh edition and aims to strengthen trade relations between Nigeria and the U.S., particularly in the non-oil sector.

Highlighting the significance of the event for Africa, New York City Mayor Eric Adams remarked, “Africa has been ignored for too long. That day ended on January 1, 2022, when I became the mayor of New York City. We need to use our strength and know-how to help build African countries.”

Omotayo further explained that the event offers practical solutions to exporters, saying, “We actively address challenges by providing essential resources like warehousing, logistics support, and direct engagement with key buyers in the U.S. market.”
