Kendrick Lamar is set to make history as the first rapper to solo headline a Super Bowl halftime show. The announcement was made on Sunday by the National Football League, Roc Nation, and Apple Music, revealing that the California-born rapper will take the stage at the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show on February 9th in New Orleans.

Jay-Z, the founder of Roc Nation, praised Lamar, stating, “Kendrick is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. His work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”

Lamar expressed his excitement about the opportunity, saying, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

Previously, Lamar performed at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2022 as part of the event’s first showcase for hip-hop music. His upcoming headline performance comes amid his ongoing feud with Drake, who has previously boasted in his songs about his Super Bowl-level fame.
