Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has emphasized the importance of combining Islamic and Western education for Muslim children to positively impact society.
Represented by Special Assistant on Humanitarian Affairs Abdullateef Adebara, AbdulRazaq made the call at the graduation ceremony of Zayd Ibn Thaabit Centre for Qur’an Memorisation in Ilorin.
He urged Muslim parents to support their children in acquiring and practicing both Islamic and Western knowledge.
The governor reassured that his administration promotes both Western and Qur’anic education for the betterment of society.
Dignitaries, including the Mutawali of Ilorin, Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq, and Professor AbdulRazaq, encouraged the graduates to utilize their knowledge to promote Islamic values and become responsible citizens.
Professor AbdulRazaq stressed the significance of memorizing the Qur’an, citing it as a means to attain everlasting peace and rewards in this life and the hereafter.
The event celebrated the achievements of students who memorized over 600 pages of the Qur’an.
