In a bid to mitigate the impact of the current economic situation on workers, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has approved a work-from-home policy for civil servants in the state.
The policy, which takes effect immediately, allows officers on levels 1-7 to work from home three days a week, those on levels 8-12 two days, and those on levels 13-17 one day a week. Essential workers, including teachers, healthcare workers, and security personnel, are exempt from the arrangement.
Each ministry, department, and agency is expected to create a schedule that ensures service delivery is not compromised. The policy will be in place for an initial period of two months, subject to periodic review.
This initiative is part of the Oyebanji administration’s efforts to enhance worker productivity and welfare, complementing other measures such as monthly wage awards and free bus services for workers and students.
