The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ilorin Zonal Directorate has arrested 56 suspected internet fraudsters in Kwara State.
The arrests were made on September 3-4, 2024, at various locations following credible intelligence on the suspects’ activities.
According to EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the suspects’ alleged fraudulent activities have caused financial harm to unsuspecting citizens.
Recovered items include 18 exotic cars of different brands, laptops, expensive smartphones
and charms.
Oyewale stated that the suspects will be prosecuted in court once investigations are concluded.
The EFCC’s operation aims to curb internet fraud and protect citizens from financial exploitation.
