The APC North Central Forum has denounced the endorsement of national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, calling it a betrayal of the region’s interests.
In a statement issued in Jos, Plateau State capital, forum chairman Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga alleged that some individuals and groups are working against the region’s bid for the national chairmanship position.
Zazzaga emphasized the North Central region’s significant contributions to the APC’s success since 2015, including President Bola Tinubu’s emergence in 2023 and the region’s five governorship seats.
He dismissed the endorsement of Ganduje by former Senate President Ameh Ebute and Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule as laughable and inconsequential.
Zazzaga criticized Ebute as a spent force with no relevance in his state and accused Sule of betrayal, giving him an ultimatum to apologize to the people of North Central within a week.
The forum vowed not to compromise on its quest for the national chairmanship position, which it believes is rightfully theirs.
Zazzaga also dismissed the Senior Special Assistant to Ganduje, Chief Oliver Okpala, as uninformed about the region’s struggles.
The North Central Forum remains resolute in its determination to reclaim the national chairmanship position.
