On Monday, September 2, the Postmaster General of the Federation and CEO of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), Mrs. Tola Odeyemi, announced that the agency is aiming to generate N10 billion in revenue for the government by the end of the year.

According to Mrs. Odeyemi, the current leadership at NIPOST is working to transform the organization and ensure it adds value to government activities while positively impacting the lives of everyday Nigerians.

To achieve this goal, NIPOST has partnered with the Small and Medium-scale Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This collaboration will reduce the cost of shipping goods and services through NIPOST by 15% for the 22 million businesses registered with SMEDAN. Mrs. Odeyemi believes this initiative will stimulate economic growth and increase productivity across all sectors of the national economy.

She made the remarks at the opening ceremony of a three-day Strategic Management Retreat for the Management staff of NIPOST, Directors, and Postal Managers from the 36 states and the FCT.

The retreat took place at DRACC Aco Estate, Lugbe, Abuja.
