The goal of the Ogun State Government’s development strategy is to enhance the state’s infrastructure by partnering with professional bodies.

During a recent courtesy call at his office in Oke Mosan, the state capital of Abeokuta, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, the state head of service, made this statement while greeting executive members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Abeokuta branch, led by its chairman, Engineer Olumayowa Idowu. Governor Dapo Abiodun, according to Onasanya, has overseen unparalleled growth that has transformed the state into an enormous building site including all facets of the construction business.

He claims that the administration has built more than 600 kilometers of sturdy roads throughout the state and that the Abeokuta-Ita-Lagos dual carriageway repair project was just launched.

The HoS added that there has been a surge in both industrial and residential construction, pointing out that the state’s engineering efforts are demonstrated, among other things, by the continuing projects at the cargo airports.

“The government is committed to construction of roads and other infrastructural developments that would stand the test of time, adding that the government, however, needs the partnership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers toward advancing the course of developmental strides of the government,” Onasanya said.

He continued by saying that despite the state’s domestication of the National Council of Establishment’s different resolutions, the government remains completely dedicated to the professional improvement of public officials.

The House of Representatives expressed gratitude to Governor Abiodun for authorizing the engineers’ entry point from GL 08 to GL 09, but they also committed to investigating the civil service careers of engineers in compliance with current laws and PS regulations.

He congratulated Mayowa Idowu on his election to lead the State section of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, calling him an honest and reputable individual whose vast expertise will benefit the organization.

In response, Idowu applauded Governor Abiodun for swiftly putting the National Council on Establishment into effect and domesticating it with regard to graduate engineers’ entry point from grade level 08 to grade level09. She also asked that the second part of the circular be implemented by recharting the level of other affected members in order to further their careers.
