The Ladigbolu Royal Family has reiterated its call for a fresh selection process for the Alaafin throne, amid controversy surrounding the previous selection.

In July 2023, the Oyo State Government directed a fresh process, prompting the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate bribery allegations against kingmakers.

The EFCC summoned five kingmakers, but only two honored the invitation. The majority of kingmakers, led by Bashorun High Chief Ayoola, filed a suit to restrain Governor Seyi Makinde from rejecting Prince Gbadegesin as Alaafin-elect.

However, a Federal High Court dismissed the application, allowing the EFCC to probe the kingmakers.

The royal family warned those spreading lies about Governor Makinde to desist and join the path of truth. They emphasized that any process disregarding Ifa divination would be unacceptable.

The family urged Yorubas worldwide to join the battle against imposition and tradition violation, stressing the throne’s significance to Yorubaland.
