A total of 1,869 Batch ‘B’ Stream 2 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have commenced their orientation program in Adamawa State. The orientation exercise officially began on Friday at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Damare, near Yola, with assurances from the state government for a conducive environment throughout their service year.

Representing Governor Ahmadu Fintiri at the event, Deputy Governor Professor Farauta Kaletapwa warmly welcomed the Corps Members, encouraging them to feel at home in Adamawa. She emphasized that they are now considered “automatic bona fide indigenes” of the state and reassured them of the government’s commitment, including the payment of a N10,000 monthly stipend to each Corps Member.

Professor Farauta urged the Corps Members to engage positively with their host communities and contribute meaningfully at their places of primary assignment.

The state NYSC Coordinator, Ateli Samson, expressed gratitude to the state government for its support, including the approval of renovations and construction of camp facilities damaged by rainstorms, as well as for supplementing the feeding of Corps Members and camp officials.

The ceremony also included the administration of the oath of allegiance to the Corps Members by the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman.
