Nigeria and Egypt Sign MoU on Defence Industry Cooperation

Nigeria and Egypt have formalized their defence cooperation with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening ties between their defence industries. The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.

 

Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, Permanent Secretary of the Nigerian Ministry of Defence, signed on behalf of Nigeria, while Major General Walid Hamouda, Assistant Minister of Defence, signed for Egypt.

 

This MoU is designed to foster deeper bilateral cooperation in line with the laws and regulations of both nations. Dr. Kana expressed optimism about the partnership, highlighting the longstanding robust relationship between Nigeria and Egypt, particularly in intelligence sharing and training.

 

Major General Hamouda, leading the Egyptian delegation, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to solidify this cooperation and assured Nigeria of Egypt’s commitment to upholding the terms of the agreement. He also noted the positive and cordial relations that have existed between the two countries.
