Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory, has donated N20 million, 5,000 blankets, 5,000 wrappers, and 5,000 children’s clothing materials to flood victims in his Yobe South constituency. The items and cash will be distributed among five wards, with each ward receiving N4 million, 1,000 blankets, 1,000 wrappers, and 1,000 children’s clothes.

The senator’s working committee, led by Alhaji Idi Jugujugu, has begun delivering relief materials to affected areas, including Chukuriwa, Nangere, Yarimaram, Dogo Nini, and Bare-bari Bauwalailai wards. Senator Bomai expressed condolences to the victims and prayed for the souls of those who lost their lives.

Flood victims have expressed gratitude to the senator, praising his grassroots approach and behind-the-scenes efforts to support the community. One victim described Senator Bomai as “an uncommon man” who is “unusual and unique in his ways of adopting and collaborating with the people.”

The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has sent officials to assess the situation and is expected to provide additional relief materials and rehabilitation assistance to the victims. The flood’s devastation was widespread, affecting four local government areas in the senatorial constituency.
