NBBF President Kida Reveals Secret Behind D’Tigress’ Impressive Olympic Outing
President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Musa Kida, stated that empowering the head coach of D’Tigress, Rena Wakama, to have the final say in player selection was instrumental in the team’s strong performance at the 2024 Olympic Games.
D’Tigress made a notable impact at the Olympics, reaching the quarter-finals before being eliminated by the United States of America. Wakama’s team achieved victories against strong opponents such as Australia and Canada in the group stage.
Kida emphasized that the coach was able to work without undue influence, with the ultimate selection of the team residing with the coach and the technical crew.
