Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has called on President Bola Tinubu to implement restructuring in Nigeria, warning that the country’s democratic system is showing signs of fatigue.
In a statement released on Sunday by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Primate Ayodele emphasized the necessity of various forms of restructuring to rejuvenate Nigeria’s democracy and ensure the nation’s prosperity.
“There is a need for economic restructuring, geopolitical restructuring, the composition and component of Nigeria restructuring, ethnicity restructuring, security restructuring, and political restructuring,” Ayodele stated.
The religious leader also pointed out that Nigeria’s issues are not merely economic, such as the fluctuating value of the dollar, but stem from deeper spiritual and systemic concerns. He suggested that the “spirits of the forces holding the country together” are dissatisfied with the current system and are pushing for restructuring.
Ayodele warned that if restructuring is not implemented, it could have negative consequences for the country and that the demand for it would only grow stronger. “The system that brings Nigeria into operation has retired, and they are clamoring for restructuring, which is why Tinubu’s policies are failing. Either Tinubu likes it or not, the system will call for it, and the people will also call for it,” he added.
He concluded by advising the government not to be misled by international bodies like the IMF, stressing that restructuring is crucial for Nigeria to move forward. “Do it now before it’s too late,” Ayodele urged.
