President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to the Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, CON, MNI, as he celebrates his 55th birthday.
In a statement, President Tinubu praised Governor Zulum as an academic, visionary, reformist, and statesman who exemplifies the energy and pragmatism of youth, coupled with the wisdom and prudence of age. He lauded the governor’s hands-on leadership style, particularly noting his unannounced, early-morning inspections of rural clinics and critical agencies to ensure smooth operations and high standards of service delivery.
President Tinubu also commended Governor Zulum’s courage in addressing security challenges in Borno State and his efforts to resettle displaced citizens. He highlighted the governor’s unifying leadership, which promotes the welfare of all citizens and advances meritocracy within the Borno Civil Service, irrespective of ethnic or religious backgrounds.
“Babagana is one of those luminescent northstars of meritocratic rise in the Nigerian political firmament,” the President stated. “His journey from humble beginnings to becoming a beacon of leadership is a guiding light for future generations. Borno State and Nigeria are fortunate to have him as a leader.”
