Senator Dino Melaye, the PDP’s 2023 Kogi State governorship candidate, has expressed his frustration with the party’s current state, declaring it “dead” under the leadership of Amb. Iliya Damagum, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and Umar Bature. Melaye accused the trio of irreversibly destroying the opposition party.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Melaye wrote: “End of the road for PDP as Damagun, Bature, and Anyanwu irredeemably destroyed the party… PDP is now once upon a time.”
Melaye’s comments come after Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, a member of the National Assembly, called for Damagum’s removal as PDP national chairman, accusing him of condoning indiscipline and being a sellout. Ugochinyere had previously accused Damagum and Anyanwu of compromising in the Rivers State political crisis, harming the PDP’s interests
