Nasarawa Police Arrest Woman with 124 Rounds of Anti-Aircraft Ammunition

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a woman, Hauwa Sani, in possession of 124 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition concealed in a gallon of palm oil. The arrest was made on August 23, 2024, at around 5:10 pm in Keffi, Keffi Local Government Area.

According to a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Rahman Nansel, the woman was traveling with a two-year-old child from Doro village in Katsina State. The ammunition was received from Rafin Sanyi village in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State and was being transported to Katsina State when the suspect was apprehended.

The police recovered the following items from the suspect:

– 124 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition
– A gallon of palm oil used to conceal the ammunition
– A Tecno mobile phone
– N78,500 in cash

The suspect is currently in custody, and preliminary investigations have revealed that she received the ammunition in Nasarawa State before attempting to transport it to Katsina State.
