Yesterday, Senate President Godswill Akpabio commissioned the newly remodeled National Defence College Officers’ Mess in Abuja. In his remarks, Akpabio emphasized the importance of professionalism and excellence within the armed forces.

The remodeled facility, he said, would serve as a hub for strategic discussions and foster unity among the armed forces. Akpabio commended the National Defence College for producing leaders who have served the nation with distinction and honor.

He described the facility as a sanctuary for those dedicated to serving the country, a place where future leaders would gather, learn, and grow. Akpabio also acknowledged the federal government’s unwavering support for the armed forces under President Bola Tinubu.

Rear Admiral O. M. Olotu, Commandant of the National Defence College, expressed gratitude for the support and commended Akpabio for his significant contribution to the project. The Officers’ Mess, he said, embodies the support given to the armed forces and provides a space for personnel to unwind and relax.

Akpabio’s commissioning of the remodelled facility underscores the importance of investing in the armed forces and promoting a culture of excellence and discipline within their ranks.
