Jordan Ayew is on the verge of joining Wilfred Ndidi at Leicester City, as the club has reached an agreement with Crystal Palace for an £8 million deal to acquire the forward.

Leicester had initially offered around £4 million, which was rejected, but talks have continued and they are close to finalizing the deal. Leicester’s manager, Steve Cooper, has been eager to strengthen the team’s attacking options due to recent injuries.

Ayew has had 212 appearances for Crystal Palace, scoring 23 goals and providing 22 assists across all competitions. The deal for Ayew is set at £5 million, with an additional £3 million in possible add-ons.

Cooper expressed confidence in being close to securing the deal but also acknowledged the unpredictability of transfer negotiations. He emphasized the team’s focus on reinforcing the attacking line while reiterating the team’s belief in the existing players’ capabilities.

In the most recent match against Brentford, Ayew started on the bench and came on in the final 20 minutes to replace Daichi Kamada in the 2-1 defeat.
