EFCC Arrests 14 Suspected Fraudsters in Benue Sting Operation

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from the Makurdi Zonal Directorate have apprehended 14 suspected internet fraudsters during a sting operation at the Federal Low Cost Housing Estate, Makurdi, Benue State.

According to a statement issued by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale on Friday in Abuja, the arrests were made following actionable intelligence regarding the suspects’ alleged involvement in internet fraud.

The arrested individuals were identified as Austine Okwori, Osita Valentine, Skott King-David, Thomas Ifebuche, Akor Oche, Henry Adah, Scott Inalegwu, Ogbu Alpha, Samuel Moses, Ogbonna Ckukwuaogwu, Mustapha Adinoye, Sylvanus Ogbu, Emmanuel Adamu, and Samuel Otene.

Items recovered during the operation included mobile phones, laptops, and charms.

The EFCC confirmed that the suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
