Popular comedian Ayodeji Richard Makun, widely known as AY, has expressed his frustration with the growing challenges of being Nigerian. On his X handle Thursday, AY lamented, “Being a Nigerian just gets tougher and tougher by the minute.”
In a related issue, reality TV star Josephine Ijeoma Otabor, known as Phyna, has voiced her discontent over the recent increase in Nigerian passport processing and acquisition fees. Phyna criticized the hike, arguing that it’s unjustified given the passport’s limited global respect.
On her X handle, she wrote: “Increasing the price of our passport, which often gets you treated poorly abroad, is just another blow. This country is falling apart, and nothing good seems to be coming out of it.”
