Delta Turns Over Land to FG for Take-off of Medical Varsity in Kwale.

Delta hands up land to FG for takeover.The Delta State government has given over 215 hectares of land to the Federal Government for the establishment of the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Kwale, Ndokwa West council area of the state.

According to the state governor, Rt Honorable Sheriff Oborewovori, 200 hectares of the property will be used for the university’s permanent site, while 15 hectares will be used for temporary purposes.

While presenting the Certificate of Occupancy for the land to the minister, who was represented by the Director of Education, Mrs Rakiya Ilyasu Gambo, Governor Oborevwori also donated Kwale General Hospital as the university’s teaching hospital.ff of Medical University, Kwale

The governor, accompanied by his deputy, Mr. Monday Onyeme, stated that the state government was excited for the university’s academic programs to start.

“We are appreciative that the Federal Government, in particular President Bola Tinubu and Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, deemed us suitable to serve as the host institution for a Federal University.”

The Minister of Education’s spokesperson had earlier stated that she and other team members had visited the locations for inspection.

She disclosed that the team had visited the general hospital, the temporary and permanent locations, and was pleased with what it had observed.

She gave the Delta State administration much credit for their tremendous assistance and for granting the Certificate of Occupancy for both the temporary and permanent locations.

Attending the ceremony were Chief Emamusi Obiodeh, the Commissioner for Lands and Survey; Engineer Mike Anoka, the Commissioner for Urban Renewal; Professor Nyerovwo Tonukari, the Commissioner for Higher Education; and Dr. Kingsley Ashibuogwu, the Commissioner for Primary Education.
