Nigerian music icon Wizkid has reached a new milestone in his illustrious career by setting a record for the longest gap between No. 1 songs on Nigeria’s TurnTable Top 100 chart. His feature on Asake’s hit track “MMS” from the album Lungu Boy soared to No. 1, marking Wizkid’s second chart-topping single.

This achievement comes 3 years, 9 months, and 12 days after his last No. 1 hit, “Ginger” featuring Burna Boy. With this, Wizkid surpasses the previous record held by Omah Lay, who had a gap of 1 year, 10 months, and 16 days between his No. 1 singles.

Wizkid’s longevity and influence in the Nigerian music industry are undeniable, having consistently remained a top-tier artist for over a decade. The Grammy-winning star is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated sixth album, Morayo, named in honor of his late mother.

Leading up to the album’s release, Wizkid has been featured on several tracks, including “Apala Disco,” “Work Me Out,” and “MMS.” He has promised that Morayo will feature a range of Nigerian artists and described it as his best project yet.
