President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his deepest condolences to the government and the people of Jigawa State in the wake of devastating floods that have claimed lives and displaced many citizens. The flooding, which has impacted approximately 14 local government areas and countless households, has left a trail of destruction and grief across the state.
In a statement issued by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, President Tinubu expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families and all those affected by the flooding. He acknowledged the profound loss experienced by the community and emphasized his administration’s commitment to providing support during this challenging time.
“The President prays for the repose of the souls of the deceased and assures the people of Jigawa of his administration’s unwavering support at this difficult time,” the statement read.
The President also highlighted the recurring nature of such environmental disasters, stressing the urgent need to sustain and intensify efforts to combat climate change and its associated dangers. He noted that these events underscore the critical importance of addressing both natural and man-made factors contributing to environmental challenges.
