The Enugu State Police Command has announced that 27 kidnappers, including members of the “Auto Pilot” faction, have been killed in the past two weeks. The police disclosed that the kidnappers were gunned down in various locations across the state during gun duels with security operatives.

Residents are now calling on Governor Mbah to demolish properties used as hideouts by kidnappers, citing an existing criminal law that empowers the state government to take such action. They argue that this would serve as a deterrent to criminals and bring justice to kidnap victims and their families.

Police Superintendent Onochie Ezeh revealed that a joint security operation led to the killing of a 7-man gang of kidnappers at Ogbeke Nike, where they used a poultry farm to hide their hostages. He noted that the operation was part of sustained efforts to flush out criminals operating in the state.

Residents, including a rescued kidnap survivor, Dr. Kate Pamela, are demanding that the government take action to demolish properties used as hideouts, such as the poultry farm where she was held captive. They believe this would ensure justice and prevent future kidnappings.
