Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has announced that the ongoing Ring Road project is designed to transform Ado-Ekiti into a modern city while preserving its traditional setting. The project, which connects Iworoko Road to the International Agro Cargo Airport, will create a new controlled city alongside the traditional section of the state capital.

Governor Oyebanji made this statement during the commissioning of three new road projects in Ado-Ekiti, including Jimoh Aliu-Adewumi Road, Hospitals Management Board/Doctors’ Quarters Road, and Obisesan-Oke Ala Link Road. The new roads are equipped with solar-powered street lights to enhance illumination and nightlife.

The Governor emphasized that the projects are part of his administration’s efforts to fulfill campaign promises and improve the lives of Ekiti residents. He noted that 16 road projects are ongoing across the state, in addition to the comprehensive renovation of 11 general hospitals.

Governor Oyebanji urged communities to play a role in maintaining the new roads by keeping drains clear of refuse, which can cause waterlogging and damage the roads. He also announced plans to develop a new city, Ado-Ekiti New City, a well-planned residential neighborhood that will coexist with the traditional section of the state capital.
