Farmers across Yobe State’s 17 local government areas have praised Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration for its unprecedented agricultural support, which has rekindled their hope for a successful harvest this year.

In July 2024, President Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, launched a multi-billion agricultural empowerment program, distributing 100 tractors, goats for women and widows, and other implements to farmers.

Beneficiaries of the support, particularly fertilizer, have reported transformed vegetation and anticipate high yields. Mallam Babagana Abubakar, a farmer from Geidam, expressed gratitude for the timely distribution of inputs, which has made his farm more productive.

Farmers from Gulani and other local government areas also commended the governor’s initiative, noting its positive impact on their crops. They appealed for continued support and emulation by other governments, especially in the northeastern region.

The agricultural empowerment program has brought hope to Yobe farmers, who are now optimistic about a bumper harvest.
