Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, the newly appointed Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), has vowed to revitalize the civil service through innovation, ensuring a more efficient and effective bureaucracy. She made this pledge during her assumption of duty in Abuja, following her appointment by President Bola Tinubu on July 17.
Walson-Jack, who joined the Federal Civil Service in 2009 and rose to Permanent Secretary in 2017, has served in various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). She succeeds Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, who retired after completing her tenure.
The new HOCSF pledged to build on existing reforms, as outlined in the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP25), and to sustain and enhance them. She expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and assured him and the nation that she would not disappoint.
Walson-Jack emphasized the need for cooperation and unity among civil servants to achieve the service’s goals, stating that she cannot succeed alone. The staff, represented by Permanent Secretary Raymond Omachi, assured her of their maximum cooperation and loyalty, promising to support her in her mandate.
