Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a model with Nigerian and Mozambican heritage, has announced her participation in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant after withdrawing from the Miss South Africa 2024 contest due to scrutiny over her nationality.
Adetshina, who was a Top 11 Finalist in the Miss South Africa pageant, stepped down following allegations from the South African Department of Home Affairs that her mother might have committed fraud and identity theft.
In a recent video, Adetshina revealed her new path, stating, “I have decided to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant. I am looking forward to competing in Africa’s most prestigious beauty pageant – Miss Universe Nigeria.”
