The National Progressives Hub (NPH), a prominent support group within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), will commemorate the first anniversary of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje CON and Senator Ajibola Basiru Ph.D.’s inauguration as the National Chairman and National Secretary of the party. The celebration, set for Tuesday, August 13, 2024, will feature a symposium in Abuja.
In a statement released on Sunday by NPH National Coordinator, Hon. Bukky Okangbe, the event is designed to mark a year of what the group describes as purposeful leadership by Ganduje and Basiru. The symposium aims to foster discussion on leadership challenges within Nigeria’s political parties and explore solutions to enhance party administration and strengthen democratic values.
The keynote address, titled “Political Party Leadership in Nigeria: Challenges and Prospects,” will be delivered by Professor Abiodun Adeniyi, Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at Baze University, Abuja.
Prominent APC figures, including former Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON) Mr. Osita Okechukwu, former APC National Secretary Arch. Waziri Bulama, and Barrister Alphonsus Eba Ogar, APC Cross River State Chairman, will discuss the keynote address. The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Jibrin Barau, will chair the event, while Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas Ph.D., and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, will serve as Special Guests of Honour.
Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the APC, will be the Chief Host, with coordinating state governors and senior party leaders expected to deliver goodwill messages.
The NPH intends to forward recommendations from the symposium to the party’s Progressive Institute as part of its efforts to contribute to Nigeria’s evolving democracy.
