Police Probe Mysterious Death of Abuja Crossdresser

The Abuja Police are investigating the enigmatic death of an individual found dressed as a woman on the Katampe-Mabushi expressway. The distressing discovery was made early Saturday morning, leading to a swift response from law enforcement.

According to a statement by Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, the body was found motionless in female attire, prompting a distress call to the Command Control Room at 7:40 a.m. The police dispatched a team of detectives to the scene immediately.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased, although dressed in female clothing, was identified as a man. The body was transported to Maitama District Hospital, where doctors confirmed the individual’s death. Notably, no identification was found on the body, complicating efforts to establish the deceased’s identity.

Adeh emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “In response to a distress call received by the Command Control Room on 08/08/2024 at 07:40 a.m., a team of detectives was promptly sent to the scene. The preliminary findings indicate that the individual was a man dressed in female clothing, and no identification was found.”

The police are now working diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding the mysterious death. Updates on the investigation are anticipated as the police seek to resolve the case. “The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh, has mandated a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death,” Adeh concluded.
