The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, stated that challenges and protests against government policies are not exclusive to Nigeria. Ganduje made these remarks on Wednesday in Abuja during a meeting with leaders of the party from the United States of America.

In his address, Ganduje emphasized that even developed economies face challenges and assured that the difficulties currently experienced in Nigeria would soon be resolved.

“There is no doubt, as a developing country, even the so-called developed economies have their turbulence in one way or the other. So, it is not surprising that Nigeria is having its own share of the problem. This is not the first time,” Ganduje said.

He highlighted that obstacles and hardships often accompany reform agendas, but expressed confidence that these would ultimately yield positive outcomes. He also stressed that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is committed to implementing reforms that will secure Nigeria’s future.

Ganduje pointed out that Nigeria’s institutions are currently weak, and strengthening them is essential for the effective implementation of the government’s policies. He reiterated that President Tinubu is working diligently to improve the country’s economy and that positive results will emerge soon.

The visit by the APC U.S. leaders, led by Prof. Adesegun Ladejo, was described by Ganduje as historic. Ladejo, on behalf of the delegation, expressed support for the Tinubu-led administration despite the challenges and discouragement from some Nigerians in the diaspora. He emphasized the group’s commitment to harmonizing their relationship with the party’s national leadership.

“In spite of the discouragement, we insisted on coming, in the face of all the turmoil that they projected will happen or is happening. We are here to support our President and Ganduje, our party’s national chairman and our country’s leaders,” Ladejo said.

The delegation also included Oyakhilome Bello, APC U.S. National Youth Leader, Alhaji Sama’ila Maigyara, National Publicity Secretary, and Alhaja Khirat Ajiboye, Deputy National Publicity Secretary.
