President Bola Tinubu has officially appointed Rt. Hon. Aminu Masari as the new chairman of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) board. This significant appointment comes as part of a broader strategy to enhance the quality and productivity of Nigeria’s higher education sector.
Masari, who previously served as the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives and as the immediate past governor of Katsina State, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His leadership is expected to steer TETFund towards achieving its mission of supporting and improving tertiary education institutions across Nigeria.
The announcement was made by Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesman, in a statement released on Tuesday night. Ngelale confirmed that Masari will be joined on the TETFund board by a distinguished team of individuals. The new members include Sunday Adepoju, Nurudeen Adeyemi, Mrs. Esther Onyinyechukwu Ukachukwu, Aboh Eduyok, Turaki Ibrahim, and Senator Sani Danladi.
Ngelale highlighted that President Tinubu anticipates the new board members to exhibit dedication and commitment in fulfilling TETFund’s objectives. The president emphasized that the board’s efforts are crucial in providing essential support for tertiary education, which is vital for enhancing the overall quality and effectiveness of higher education in the country.
