Nigerian singer Anthony Ebuka Victor, professionally known as Victony, has shared that he has undergone four surgeries and has another one planned. This comes in the wake of a harrowing experience in 2021 when he survived a severe car accident that left him in a coma for four days.
During an interview at the Afroland Festival, part of the Adesope Live segment, Victony spoke about his ongoing recovery. Despite the challenges, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue his music career. He mentioned that he takes pain relievers before performing on stage and is preparing for an upcoming North America tour.
Reflecting on his journey, Victony said, “Honestly, I am blessed and the world can see. I’m still in the recovery phase but I’m able to continue doing what I love. Even though I’ve had four surgeries and will need one more after the tour, it’s still a blessing to be able to perform and record. I thank God for His grace; it’s not by my power. I don’t consider myself His favorite child, but I’m grateful for the blessings.”
In February 2023, Victony announced a two-month break from music to recover from his third surgery, highlighting the ongoing nature of his recovery process.
