The Trump campaign has criticized Vice President Kamala Harris’s choice of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, labeling him a “dangerously liberal extremist.” This comes after Harris announced Walz, a former congressman and the current governor of Minnesota, as her vice-presidential pick.

Karoline Leavitt, the national press secretary for the Trump campaign, voiced strong disapproval of Walz, accusing him of trying to transform Minnesota into a liberal stronghold akin to California. Leavitt pointed to Walz’s policies, such as his support for a carbon-free agenda, stricter emissions standards for vehicles, and the expansion of voting rights to convicted felons, as evidence of his liberal stance.

Leavitt argued that Walz’s policies align with what she described as the “dangerously liberal agenda” of California and suggested that his vision for America would be a nightmare for many citizens. She further criticized Walz for his purported disconnect with rural America, referencing a past remark where he allegedly downplayed the significance of rural areas.

The Trump campaign’s sharp criticism reflects the broader political divide as both sides gear up for what promises to be a contentious election.
