Popular comedian Oluwaseyitan Aletile, widely known as Seyi Law, has stirred controversy with his recent comments on the potential creation of state police in Nigeria. Amid growing discussions about the establishment of state police, Seyi Law expressed concerns about the potential for abuse by Nigerian governors.
His remarks came in response to reports that the 33 Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State had decided to break away from the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON). On his X handle on Sunday, Seyi Law suggested that if state police were established, some governors might misuse their power to an extreme extent.
He wrote, “Imagine state police in the hands of some governors. They will personally organize the execution of the President.”
