The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), led by Managing Director Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, has announced the successful disbursement of N20,000 monthly stipends for July to 20,371 students across six tertiary institutions.
This initiative reinforces President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to supporting Nigerian students and ensuring their financial stability during their academic pursuits.
Students from the following institutions have begun receiving their July stipends:
- Bayero University Kano
- Federal University, Dutsin-Ma
- University of Ilorin
- University of Benin
- University of Ibadan
- University of Maiduguri
NELFUND is also working to extend this payment process to students from approximately 55 additional tertiary institutions within the next two weeks. The fund is dedicated to ensuring that all eligible students receive their stipends promptly.
NELFUND’s mission is to support the educational aspirations of Nigerian students by providing financial assistance and timely disbursement of stipends for their daily expenses. The recent commitment of an additional 50 billion Naira from recovered proceeds of crime further emphasizes the President’s dedication to this cause.
NELFUND appreciates the patience and cooperation of students and institutions as it diligently works to fulfill its commitments to Nigerian students.
