Governor Adeleke Urges Mineral Resources Committee to Prioritize Security

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustainable and secure mining practices during the inauguration of the state Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee in Osogbo, headed by Professor Lukman Jimoda.

Adeleke emphasized the government’s dedication to responsible mining and environmental sustainability. He outlined the committee’s mandate to ensure security at mining sites, prevent environmental pollution, and foster community development agreements between miners and host communities.

He thanked Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr. Dele Alake, for the collaboration between Osun State and the Federal Government, highlighting its importance for efficient mining regulation and license processing.

Professor Jimoda, the committee chairman and special adviser to the governor on mineral resources, pledged to protect the interests of both the Federal and Osun State governments. He assured the governor of the committee’s commitment to safeguarding miners and host communities while maintaining a zero-tolerance policy for environmental degradation.
