President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over a Security Council meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meeting commenced at 2:00 pm and features briefings from the service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police, among other key security officials, regarding the current security situation in the country.
In attendance at the meeting are Vice President Kashim Shettima, the National Security Adviser, all Service Chiefs, the Inspector General of Police, the Comptroller Generals of Customs and Immigration, and the Chief of Staff to the President.
This meeting follows the unexpected cancellation of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which was scheduled to take place earlier today at the Presidential Villa. The cancellation occurred just after President Tinubu’s national broadcast on Sunday, which aimed to address the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests sweeping across the nation. No official reason has been provided for the FEC meeting’s cancellation.
