Operatives of the Kano State Police Command have successfully dispersed a group of youths who attempted to break into a store along Zoo Road in Kano. The suspects targeted the two-storey building housing Sadaraki Stores but were stopped by police before they could cause further damage. Prior to the arrival of security operatives, the suspects managed to destroy several windows of the building.
Despite the incident, overall compliance with the protest against hunger in the ancient city remains low, with many residents choosing to stay indoors. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had previously alerted the public about intelligence reports suggesting that some individuals might attempt to hijack the protest for nefarious purposes. He invited genuine protesters to come to the Government House in Kano while warning troublemakers to stay away from the state.
